Blackness in America has teamed up with the Dreamhouse for a screening of the classic 1990 documentary, “Paris is Burning,” followed by discussion. Please be aware that the voices of Black femmes—specifically trans femmes—take precedence
in this discussion. The screening will form as a springboard for dialogue based on the topics largely brought up in the movie, including class, race and racism, wealth, sex and sexuality, gender orientation, beauty standards and cultural appropriation.
