For 2017, Long Island Pride moves to Long Beach, N.Y., to become a three-day destination weekend beginning on Friday, Jun 9 and closing out on Sunday, Jun 11 (check website for all events). The festivities include a Pride carnival, beach party, boat parade, a 5K run and much more, and conclude with the 27th Annual Long Island Pride Parade and a concert on the beach starring Rachel Platten, singer of the billboard chart-topping hits “Fight Song” and “Stand By You.” Honorees include WNBA Hall-of-Famer Sue Wicks and the late Gilbert Baker, creator of the iconic rainbow flag, as grand marshals.
