Meet the next wave of out leaders!

K.C. COREDINI
Executive Director, MassEquality

“Growing up, I received exclusively negative messages about LGBTQ identity, but as a young adult I experienced coming out as joyous and hopeful,” says K.C. Coredini. “The process enriched my life in every way. It gave me a taste of what it’s like to be a member of a minority population; it awakened a deep empathy for the experiences of other minorities; and it inspired me to dedicate myself to making things better for young people coming up than they were for me.” This dedication has led her to become the executive director of MassEquality, a grassroots advocacy group focused on obtaining equal rights for queer folks living in Massachusetts. Prior to working for Mass-Equality, Coredini served as the founding director of the Department of Public Policy at the Family Equality Council and as the state legislative director at the National LGBTQ Task Force. As Mass Equality’s leader, she’s helped elect more than 100 pro-gay lawmakers and has raised millions to ensure the achievement of queer political goals. “For me,” she says, “there is no better feeling, no greater accomplishment, and no more valuable bottom line than knowing that my life is making a difference in someone else’s.”
