May 17 at the Queens Museum of Art, CINEMAROSA—Queens only queer film series— celebrates its fifth anniversary with Pentagram, a screening of short films featuring special guests, fans, groupies, stockers, and the whole CINEMAROSA family of queer Queens locals and NYC extended family. Expect the unexpected and look for the surprises as we blow (literally) yes, blow five pink luscious candles and bathe in pink champagne. Come prepared!
NewFest, New York’s LGBT film festival (presented by Logo), returns June 4–11 at the new SVA Theaters on 23rd St. As NYC’s premier LGBT film organization, NewFest empowers, educates, entertains and provokes the culturally rich and diverse communities of the greater metropolitan region. Through their annual film festival and year-round programming, NewFest showcases international, US and local film, video, and other media, fostering a greater sense of awareness and community among LGBT and LGBT-friendly audiences.
