Oct 18 at Sol, GO Magazine will host the Kick-Off for the GO for the Cure Tour ’08. Your favorite mag (GO, of course) has organized star-studded events around the country that will help raise funds for and awareness of women’s cancers. The NYC kick-off benefits Callen-Lorde Community Health Center’s Lesbian Health Services, which provide gynecological services and comprehensive primary care focused on women’s health and comfort. Comedic diva Margaret Cho will introduce a performance by The Cliks, plus look out for guest appearances by cast members from Logo’s new series Exes & Ohs, including the show’s cre-ator/writer/executive producer Michelle Paradise.

The SAGE Women’s Dance, a longtime gem of the women’s community, begins a new dance season with the Fall Frolic on Oct 21 at the China Club. A fun-packed tradition, this SAGE event attracts women of all ages and all backgrounds, serving up the most danceable music of the past and present spun by DJ Nancy B. Don’t miss this “golden” opportunity to ring in Autumn with a bang!

Nov 5 at Capitale, the 7th Annual Callen-Lorde Community Health Awards honor the visionaries, heroes and trailblazers dedicated to the health and well-being of the LGBT communities. Callen-Lorde is dedicated to providing quality healthcare to all who visit the center, regardless of an individual’s ability to pay. This year’s awards honor physician and philanthropist Alan Fard, MD, Executive Director Jay Laudato, and Callen-Lorde’s Non-Profit Finance Fund.

Oct 11 at the Sheraton Hotel, join the Empire State Pride Agenda (ESPA) for their annual Fall Dinner. Comedienne and actress Caroline Rhea will emcee the evening’s program, and Tony Award-winner LaChanze (The Color Purple) will give a special performance. New York State Senate Minority Leader Malcolm Smith, along with Assembly member and marriage bill sponsor Daniel O’Donnell and New York’s First Lady Silda Wall Spitzer, will give remarks. Over 1,000 guests are expected to attend this benefit to support the Pride Agenda’s ongoing advocacy and education work in LGBT civil rights.

Revel, Stonewall Community’s signature younger donor cocktail party, will be held on Nov 8 at 609 W 29th St. A quintessential New York experience, the party brings together LGBT professionals and their friends for a night of exceptional good will and music—with an open-bar courtesy of Christiania Vodka. All proceeds from Revel support the work of Stonewall to strengthen the LGBT community and its organizations.

Oct 21, join the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation for the GLAAD outAuction NYC 2007, a celebration of established and emerging artists at the Metropolitan Pavilion. This year, GLAAD will celebrate outAuction’s sixth anniversary, and with this milestone, the planning committee has designated the auction to recognize GLAAD’s Top 100 Artists. Bid on 100 unique pieces of art by
world-famous and talented emerging artists at this chic event, plus enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and more.

Inspired by a women’s gala at Bill Clinton’s presidential inauguration, the LGBT Center hosted its first Women’s Event gala dinner and dance in 1998, and in 2007, are celebrating their 10th anniversary as one of the country’s premier gala and silent auction events for women in our community! Nov 3 at Chelsea Piers’ Pier 60, join The Center for Women’s Event 10 as they honor actress Cherry Jones and Estee Lauder’s Sally Susman for giving selflessly of themselves for the betterment of all women.
