Mar 1–2, African Asian Latina Lesbians United (AALLU) celebrates sisterhood for the eleventh year in the annual Eastern Regional Women of Color Conference at Rutger’s University in Newark, NJ. This conference includes a panel discussion, keynote speaker and enlightening workshops that address our intellectual, political, emotional, social and spiritual being. The days include several empowering workshops addressing these topics of interest and concerns for women, as well as entertainment, arts and so much more.

Celebrate 10 years of Marriage Equality NY (MENY) serving the community in its struggle for gender neutral marriage in the much-anticipated Marriage Equality New York 10th Anniversary Gala, Feb 11 at Bamboo 52. The benefit party includes two private hours of open bar with sushi and hot finger food platters, a fabulous DJ, hostess Julie Goldman, and the Gender Offenders performing through the night.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fight AIDS holds its Broadway Bears XI fundraiser on Feb 17 at BB King Blues Club and Grill. The benefit auction features a star-studded gala reception, plus over 40 original collectible bears dressed as Broadway’s biggest and brightest stars. This year’s bears represent recent Broadway hits like Curtains, The Drowsy Chaperone, Jersey Boys, Legally Blonde, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, Spamalot, and Spring Awakening.

Mar 1 at Supreme Trading in Brooklyn, Girlz in the Hood and GO Magazine present GO for the Cure Tour 08! and the March installment of Girlz in the Hood, an event to raise money for NYC’s Callen-Lorde Community Health Center. This red-hot party features Shiragirl, Kissy, Kamikaze, KIN, the bois of Switch N’ Play and a very special top secret guest performance TBA. DJ Storm keeps you dancin’ all night.

Feb 23, dress to impress and head to the Hilton New York the Human Rights Campaign’s Greater New York Gala Dinner. The gala program features a full slate of entertainment and recognizes individuals and organizations whose tireless efforts have made important gains for the LGBT community. Feb 12 at In the Life’s 5th Ave production studio, join host Michael Billy and In the Life TV for a Valentine’s Day celebration of love in the LGBT community in the second annual I Heart In the Life event, featuring an open bar and silent auction (visit inthelifetv.org for more information). In the Life TV documents the full range of the gay experience and the issues that impact our lives and our communities through stories on politics and public policy, personal and community health, religion and spirituality, and more.

Downtown’s hottest new party, Victoria, glams up the Stonewall Inn Feb 9 with a night of drag and faux drag honoring The Golden Girls and our elders. Dance to the beats of DJ Sophia H. and revel in Golden Girls video installation by Donna Chiara and Chancey Feign. The place will be packed with performers, including the Golden Girls Troupe (starring comedian Ann Carr, singer Amber Martin, and Queens Marie & Cherelynore—the two party hosts). A portion of the party’s proceeds benefit SAGE.

comes to Brooklyn’s Southpaw Feb 7. All of this special event’s proceeds benefit the work of SLRP, an organization working to guarantee that all people are free to self-determine their gender identity and expression, regardless of income or race, and without facing harassment, discrimination, or violence. The event’s super-hot lineup includes Electric Fiction, Ta’na Asili y La Banda Rebelde, Inner Princess, DJ Tikka Masala, MC’s Peter Cramer and Jack Waters, The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and more.
