The Very Best of NYC Comedy/Variety

Kate Clinton’s Glee party, Girls Gone Hilarious and more…

Kate Clinton performs her 30th Anniversary Tour: The Glee Party on Feb 26 at Montclair State University in New Jersey. Clinton will perform her world-famous burlesque Bubble Wrap Dance as she gleefully pops the air out of deniers and disruptors, birthers and dearthers, conservadems and bibliocrats, the -stans and the bans, spine flu and whine flu, ex-gays and A-gays, the audacity of nope and, of course, the Pope.

Girls Gone Hilarious, a Homo Comicus production, plays Mar 2 at the Gotham Comedy Club. March comes in with a killer night of high-test, laugh-packed lesbian comedy, hosted by the fabulous Michele Balan with the outrageous Judy Gold, the brilliant Poppy Champlin (making a rare New York City appearance) and two hot young new talents: Claudia Cogan and Emma Willmann. The show is preceded by a free, open-to-all women social and networking mixer at the club, sponsored by LYNX Lounge/Out Professionals.

Le Scandal Cabaret is New York City’s longest running burlesque variety show. Now in its ninth year, Le Scandal features variety acts, circus performers, live music and a bevy of burlesque beauties with new performers every week. Expect sword swallowers, belly dancers, rope trick cowboys, contortionists, torch singing fan dancers and comedic aerobats, all set to the live music of the Le Scandal Orchestra. At Laurie Beechman Theatre every Saturday.
