The Very Best of NYC Comedy/Variety

Kate Clinton in Lady HaHa, Girls Gone Hilarious and more…

Comedian, author, actress and LGBT advocate Kate Clinton will showcase her unique blend of feminism, humor and political commentary when her newest one-woman show, Lady HaHa, lands on Dixon Place’s stage Oct 1–3. Kate performs her famed burlesque Bubble Wrap Dance as she gleefully pops the air out of deniers and disruptors, birthers and dearthers, conservadems and bibliocrats, spine flu and whine flu, ex-gays and A-gays, the audacity of nope, and of course, the pope. All material fully digitalized and gorgeously styled by the Haus of Ha. Don’t miss the special benefit performance on opening night that includes a post-show dessert reception with Clinton.

Homo Comicus returns with GIRLS GONE HILARIOUS, Oct 6 at Gotham Comedy Club. Sit back and let the wild and wonderful women of stand-up comedy, including LGBT luminaries such as the fabulous Judy Gold, L.A.-based Poppy Champlin, and returning champion Sabrina Matthews, slay you with with their comedic stylings. Before the show, chill out with a cold $5 margarita at a free women’s social networking mixer hosted by sponsor LYNX Lounge/Out Professionals and open to all.

This fall, five of New York’s biggest bump ‘n’ grind stars have highway fever! The super-star burlesque team of Anita Cookie, Clams Casino, Darlinda Just Darlinda, GiGi La Femme and Minnie Tonka are hitting the road for Dangerous Curves Ahead: Burlesque on the Go-Go. With a squeal of tires and a cloud of glitter, they’re leaving behind the Big Apple with the top down and their tassels twirling! The performers will kick off the tour’s killer moves and hilarious hijinks at NYC’s Kenny’s Castaways on October 9.
