Don’t miss the 24th annual NewFest, New York’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Film Festival running Jul 27-31 at Manhattan’s film mecca, the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Walter Reade Theater. The festival offers a lineup of 12 narrative features, four documentaries, 18 shorts and two panel discussions including Marialy Rivas’ acclaimed Chilean film Young & Wild (World Cinema Screenwriting Award, Sundance 2012). Based on the life of co-screenwriter Camila Gutiérrez, the film is a sexually-charged, stunning and energetic look at family and youth culture in contemporary Chile. Also screening is Cloudburst, Kiss Me and I Am a Woman Now.
Rooftop Films 2012 Summer Series presents a full line-up of astonishing short films, now through Aug 18 at unique outdoor venues in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx .
