Chocolate Factory, Q-Girls Anniversary, Let’s Be Brief and more

Q GIRLS ANNIVERSARY PARTY, APRIL 15
We cant believe it’s been eight years! Celebrate Q-Girls’ eighth birthday – and the longest running party for professional women in NYC – at their anniversary bash April 15. As always, the mature and sexy crowd gathers at Chelsea’s ultra-fancy eatery Elmo to sip exquisitely-mixed signature cocktails. This special night also features giveaways, hors d’oeuvres, and the sound stylings of celesbian DJ Susan Levine. Bring your business cards – this party is known for hooking up professional women with their peers for a little B-to-B networking.

DANIELLE AND SIR SABRINA’S CHOCOLATE FACTORY BIRTHDAY, APRIL 16
Forget gold stars: Maybe you’ll win a golden ticket as two of the city’s hottest promoters celebrate an undisclosed anniversary of their 21st birthdays! This Willy Wonka-themed bash at Loft 409 couldn’t be more deliciously decadent, what with the assortment of chocolate cocktails; a generous cover discounted for those who dare to bare their Wonka attire and sugar-coated nibbles galore. Channel your inner Veruca Salt, Oompa-Loompa or early ’70s Gene Wilder for what promises to be a finger-lickin’ good time. What you’ll see will defy explanation!

DON’T F*CK WITH THE QUEEN BEE, APRIL 23
This edition of Hey Queen! is an homage to women in music and divas – queens bees, in industry parlance. Promoters Amy Agony and Sarah Jenny are very excited to present this month’s Queen of Honor: Lady Jasmin of the now-closed Starlite Lounge. That historic venue was the oldest black-owned LGBTQ bar in Brooklyn, Assembly. And it wouldn’t be Hey Queen! without outrageous performances, sexy go-go gals and your favorite songs about and/or by women. Grab a can of PBR, paint on your skinny jeans and don’t set that alarm Sunday morning.

I AM, APRIL 23
LoverGirlNYC and Dreamgyrls Entertainment keep in poppin’ every Saturday night with a fresh theme party at Club Cache. Celebrate Easter Weekend at I Am, featuring performances by MC Lady Luck and Poca the Papergirl. The ladies are bringing you MC Shaq and music by DJ MAry Mac and DJ Left. Media outlets will be covering the event, so make sure you’re on your best (or worst) behavior for the press! As always, VIP and bottle service are available. Get there early for the best seat in the house. AGs, leave your white tees and baggy attire at home; femmes, wear your heels.

BLUE STAR, APRIL 21
This party’s been on hiatus for the past couple of months, but guess what? Like floral prints and platform sandals, it’s baaaaack. Blue Star’s goal remains the same: provide a hip, casual party where women who like women (and their buds) can drink, dance and chat over music that won’t split one’s eardrums. The venue, however, is new: the rock-styled Bowery Electric, which features a long, sleek bar and performance space. Make a friend or two while you benefit a good cause: this month, the promoters will be donating the night’s proceeds to the Ali Forney Center, which protects LGBTQ youth from the harm of homelessness and supports them in becoming safe and independent as they move from adolescence to adulthood. We can all drink to that!

CHOICE CU*TS TATTOO CONVENTION, APRIL 30
Your body is a temple – and we want to know how you decorated it. Don’t be afraid to lift up your shirt and dare to bare your artwork; in fact, that kind of exhibitionism is encouraged at Ellie Conant’s lusty monthly party at Identity Bar. Show off that single rosebud on your left boob or Chinese symbol on the back of your neck: chest pieces and above-the-collarbone ink can get you in for free! Go ahead, ink your baby mama’s name across your sternum and party on Choice’s tab. Don’t worry, we won’t tell Grandma.

LET’S BE BRIEF, MAY 6
Danielle Presents has teamed up with Let’s Be Brief, a new company with an important mission: “to produce quality underwear for LGBT women and allies through innovative fit, design and give back programs to the LGBT community.” That’s right, bois and grrrls: There’s no need to sacrifice fierce fashion when it comes to your unmentionables. Let’s Be Brief specializes in masculine styles made to “fit and flatter the female figure and women of all sizes.” Help Danielle welcome them to the neighborhood with a fabulous launch party at Drom. The Boston-based drag troupe All The King’s Men performs an outrageous show at 11pm, followed by DJ Lezz Van Halen. If you buy a pair of panties, you get in free! Just don’t call them panties…
