Join hosts Sam Champion and Rubem Robierb at the GLAAD Art Auction, a celebration of art, artists and all creative works at the Metropolitan Pavilion Nov 18. Guests will enjoy an evening of gourmet hors d’oeuvres, Ketel One hosted cocktails and great music while bidding on more than 100 pieces of art. All funds raised support GLAAD, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.

Run, walk or cheer with God’s Love We Deliver on Nov 18 for the 19th Annual Race to Deliver, a four-mile run/walk in Central Park. GLWD is the New York metropolitan area’s leading not-for-profit provider of life-sustaining meals and nutritional counseling for people living with life-threatening illnesses. This annual fundraiser is a symbol of the daily race to ensure that no person ever has to face the unthinkable combination of illness and hunger. To date, nearly 83,000 caring New Yorkers have participated with 5,000 more anticipated this year. This year’s race will start at the 72nd Street Transverse near Bethesda Fountain at 8:30am with the Kids Fun Runs to follow at 10am.

Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI), the nation’s oldest and largest LGBTQ youth services organization, was hard hit by Superstorm Sandy. Not only was the agency forced to cancel the 2012 Emery Awards—a vitally needed fundraiser accounting for over 20 percent of its general operating budget to support homeless LGBTQ youth—but the storm’s intense impact also shuttered the agency’s programs and services these same young people turn to for basic needs like a hot meal and clean clothes. HMI will hold a scaled down version of the 2012 Emery Awards at the Altman Building Dec 11. Honorees at this year’s awards include openly gay Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, the makers of the moving and heartfelt documentary Bully and Time Warner Inc. Anyone holding tickets for the original event scheduled for Oct 29 is invited to attend the rescheduled event.

Trevor Next Gen invites you to the Trevor Fall Fête at the Angel Orensanz Foundation on Nov 19. Tony Award-nominated director John Tartaglia emcees this fancy night featuring musical entertainment, a hosted bar, exciting silent auction items and music by DJ Lina. Proceeds benefit The Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth.
