Although the world feels like its constantly descending further and further into madness, there’s always a little spark of hope that helps us hold our heads high. Enter Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli, who just happily celebrated their two year wedding anniversary in both real life and a recent Instagram #TBT from the ceremony. Seeing a successful lesbian relationship is one thing, but seeing a thriving union between two talented and gorgeous icons? Well, that’s definitely a spark of joy big enough to remind us of the good in the world!

Morelli, who has produced and written for a number of television programs, expressed how happy and lucky she felt being married to Wiley in her Instagram post, captioning it, “Getting to choose you every day is the best thing. Happy 2 years, Mrs, Morelli!!!”
The two met on the set of Netflix’s “Orange Is The New Black” in 2014 where Lauren Morelli worked as a writer and Samira Wiley, of course, played Poussey Washington: the inmate with a big smile and an even bigger heart. Although Morelli originally identified as straight, she credits writing for the show with helping her discover her sexuality. Luckily for her, it also helped her discover her wife. The couple were suit and gown #fashiongoals at their wedding in 2017, and the Instagram throwback clearly shows just how happy the two were to finally tie the knot.
Wiley also publicly celebrated the anniversary on her Instagram page with another gorgeous throwback pic with the simple and sweet caption, “Happy 2nd, @lomorelli” accompanied by a few cute emojis.
We wish the couple the happiest of anniversaries, and we can’t wait to celebrate more with them in the future!
