pure xtc Is Unchained In The New “Shed My Skin” Music Video

“I made this video in my living room with my wife filming on my iphone, it’s raw and intimate – just as I wrote the song to be.”

pure xtc is a queer multi-instrumentalist creating her own brand of brooding alternative pop out of her home studio in Kansas City, MO. Coming off one hell of a year, including east & west coast tours, a beer release, and performing at 3 festivals alongside Fletcher, Dayglow and Dashboard Confessional and more, pure xtc is ready to enter 2023 with a music video for “shed my skin” the title track from her latest EP that was released at the end of 2022 and a handful of show announcements.

“shed my skin isn’t about being a better person for someone else. The song is completely introspective and it’s a conversation I have with myself regularly. It’s the late night thoughts creeping into your head. Letting go of things and people who have hurt you, forgiving yourself for things you’ve done that hurt other people. Growing and evolving into the person you want to be. I made this video in my living room with my wife filming on my iphone, it’s raw and intimate – just as I wrote the song to be.”

“shed my skin” was recorded in pure xtc’s home studio, co-written with Violette and co-produced by Bryan Czap(ex. The Dangerous Summer) alongside executive producer Walter Kazmier and mastered by Mike Piacentini (Depeche Mode + Cheap Trick) at Sony Entertainment’s Battery studios.
