The Very Best of NYC’s Upcoming Events

Lavender Light, Broadway Bares and more!

Lavender Light: the Black and People of All Colors Lesbian and Gay Gospel Choir returns to Peter Norton Symphony Space with SHOUT!, its annual Gay Pride Concert, on Jun. 12. The choir, which celebrates its 25th season, will perform a wide range of gospel music from traditional spirituals to classic and contemporary favorites that promises to have you dancing, singing, praising and shouting.

On Jun. 20 grab your favorite piece (Dog? Ship? Boot? Thimble?), roll the dice, and get ready to put money into the community chest to help Broadway Bares XX: “STRIP-OPOLY” reach their $1 million fundraising goal to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Returning once again to the Roseland Ballroom, this year’s Broadway Bares brings a whole new definition to the phrase “game night” when over 200 of Broadway’s sexiest dancers come together for the hottest burlesque show this side of Park Place.

Don’t miss the NYC PRIDE 2010 Women That Rock Music Festival at the Canal Room Jun. 25. The concert features singer/songwriter Melissa Ferrick and musicians Edie Carey, Laura Coyle, Aileen Morgan and Sarah Price. This NYC Pride Weekend celebration is a benefit to help support young women with breast cancer. A portion of the proceeds go to the Young Survivors Coalition.
