In perhaps the greatest twist in “The Bachelor” franchise history, the series’ Vietnam show, “Bachelor: Vietnam,” featured a wild rose ceremony last year where contestant Thu confessed her love for contestant Truc Nhu on the show.
“I went into this competition to find love, and I’ve found that love for myself,” contestant Minh Thu told bachelor Nguyen Quoc Trung during the ceremony. “But it isn’t with you. It’s with someone else…” Minh Thu asked Truc Nhu to leave the show with her, but in another dramatic moment, the bachelor convinced Nhu to stay.
Returning to the competition, Nhu decided to explore her feelings for Trung further. “The Bachelor” was not enough to keep Thu and Nhu apart, however, and Nhu later asked to leave the show. Although the two women didn’t find love with Trung, they began to date after the show.
Minh Thu and Truc Nhu then began dating with pretty much the whole world rooting for their adorable relationship.
Six months later, we received the best update on what happened since they left the show: namely, they’re living in lesbian bliss and being absolutely adorable on Instagram. Die hard fans have been following the couple on Instagram and have been sharing updates on Twitter that show Thu and Nhu engaging in adorable activities together, like buying flowers and posing on vacation.
Additionally, the couple was spotted at the Hanoi Pride celebration in matching “Hanoi Pride” t-shirts and face paint.

One reason the couple’s story is so meaningful is that Vietnam deals with a large amount of anti-LGBTQ discrimination. LGBTQ residents of the country are still fighting for full equality.
That fact is not stopping Thu and Nhu from living their best lesbian lives with pride, and we can only hope that they pave the way for what we are all desperately waiting for: a full-on lesbian version of “The Bachelor.”
In the meantime, you can follow Thu and Nhu’s journeys on Instagram.
