Chair of the Board, The Trevor Project

Midwest native Meredith Kadlec brings a wealth of business experience to her leading role in The Trevor Project’s mission of bringing nationwide awareness to its suicide prevention and life-affirming programs. Kadlec’s latest gig as Senior Vice President of Original Programming and Feature Film Development at Here Media, and Director of Development for television showrunner Danny Jacobson’s production company based at Twentieth Century Fox, combined with her unique perspective as a parent, have undoubtedly enhanced her ability to shape effective new outreach programs. For example, Kadlec is currently working on expanding Trevor’s services and programs online, in schools, and through text messaging to deepen its reach both inside and outside the LGBT community—a formidable challenge, considering that the hardest places to reach with her message are the same places where youth can feel most isolated. So where would she like to see the community five years from now? “When I look to any point in the community’s future, I hope for full equality, for LGBT youth to never contemplate suicide, for love to have conquered all,” Kadlec says. “Realistically, however, though things are improving, we have a way to go. That’s why we all need to get involved in some way and support the organizations doing work we believe in.”
