HMI New Jersey Spring Soiree

Each year, Hetrick-Martin Institute: New Jersey honors leaders in the LGBTQ community at its fabulous spring fundraiser

Each year, Hetrick-Martin Institute: New Jersey honors leaders in the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning) community at its fabulous spring fundraiser, Spring Soiree. HMI is a leading professional provider of support and programming for at-risk LGBTQ youth, and the HMI: New Jersey branch is now in its fifth successful year. The Spring Soiree raises crucial operational funds to help ensure the longevity of this extremely worthwhile and necessary organization.

This year, according to Dr. Ashawnda Fleming, Executive Director of HMI: New Jersey, "we‘ve chosen honorees who uniquely support not only the work of Hetrick-Martin Institute: New Jersey, but whose work has also impacted the greater LGBTQ community in New Jersey. As we continue our work statewide, we are finding it increasingly important to collaborate with leaders and organizations who understand the big picture. This year’s honorees have made it their mission to improve the lives of LGBTQ youth in New Jersey as well as nationally.” The honorees are: Darnell L. Moore, Senior Editor at MicNews, North Jersey Pride Inc. and Schiff Hardin LLP.

Monifah, singer/songwriter and star of the reality show R&B Divas, will be this year's special guest. She, along with her wife Terez, will join community leaders, elected officials and allies at the fundraiser sponsored by Henry V. Amerigan, The Greater Gotham MINI Dealers, Jeff Spelman & Ivan Lo, Schiff Hardin LLP, PNC Bank and more! GO Magazine is the official media sponsor.

Spring Soiree is located in Newark, New Jersey at the Taste Venue and features delicious cocktails and dinner, an awards presentation and fabulous live music provided by DJ Spynfo.
