Get Ready for NYC’s 41st Annual Village Halloween Parade

Arguably the nation’s gayest event in the world’s greatest city!

Cue the Rebecca Black vid, because Halloween falls on a Friday this year. FRIDAY! It’s gonna be insane! Join the parade this Friday night, October 31, 2014 at 7pm at Sixth Avenue and Canal Street.

It’s almost impossible to believe that this wildly creative event has been going on for more than four decades, but it’s true. This year marks the 41st anniversary of the Village Halloween Parade. And only those in costume are welcome to join, so you gotta bring it. Unleash your creativity and werk those Halloween costumes, girls.

There will be much more than thousands of costumes parading this year. There will also be hundreds of puppets, 53 bands playing different types of music, dancers and artists. The Grand Marshal of the parade is none other than Whoopi Goldberg. And the theme of 2014? The Garden of Earthly Delights! So let your imagination run wild with that concept.

For those who love Halloween history, there’s a new book available for purchase from longtime parade photographer Scott Laperruque, Treaters: The Greenwich Village Halloween Parade, 1982-1986. If you buy it, 50 percent of the book’s profits will go to support the parade! Visit www.halloween-nyc.com for more details.
