Do you miss the romantic entanglements and dramatic tensions of The L Word? Pining for cinema that is made by lesbians, about lesbians, for lesbians? GO has the exclusive teaser for L Word director and writer Rose Troche’s recently wrapped film, Concussion—a new exploration of women’s desires, dreams and erotic liberation.
Screenwriter Stacie Passon introduces us to Abby: a wealthy lesbian housewife from the suburbs. Though given every advantage in life, she feels lost and bored, devoid of passion and purpose, and she fills her afternoons folding laundry and grocery shopping. To relieve the monotony while her children are at school and her wife is at work, Abby becomes a prostitute for women.
She feels in control of her destiny until she meets her match in Sam, a client equal to her in emotional detachment. Unexpectedly, Abby begins falling for her, disrupting her domestic life but leading to a new sense of self-awareness.
The cast and crew recently wrapped shooting and celebrated the Stonewall Inn. Actors Robin Weigert, Kate Rogal, Funda Duval, Emily Kinney, Julie Fain Lawrence, Alyson Shapero and Johnathan Tchaikovsky; and crew members Summer Damon, Cassandra Santiago, Rose Troche, Anthony Cupo and many more toasted the film and looked forward to its release later this year.
