One Hong Kong [sugar]daddy, Cecil Chao, believes there can be a price put on love—and the going rate is $64 million.
The playboy tycoon offered this exponentially high exchange to any man who can woo his lesbian daughter Gigi off her feet and wed her. To Mr. Chao, it doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor; he just wants someone nice for his precious child. Oh, and he has to be a man.
What seems to be irrelevant, however, to this Daddy Warbucks is that Gigi Chao is already rumored to be married to her longtime partner Sean Eav, a woman. We’ve heard of parents doing a lot of things to keep their kids from being gay, but you can’t marry it off any more than you can pray it away. Surprisingly, Gigi isn’t exactly put off by her father’s gestures. At first, she found the matter entertaining, but the news has gone viral, and she’s received hundreds of emails a day—from sweet love odes to nude selfies.
“It’s not that he can’t accept me. It’s that he can’t accept how society would view me,” Gigi told the media. “I understand why he’s doing this.” We know that not every parent loves the fact their kid is gay, but Mr. Chao seems to be flagrantly disregarding the commitment between his daughter and her partner Sean. (If we were Gigi’s other half, we wouldn’t be amused seeing all these guys trying to make her an offer she can’t refuse, especially with the blessing of her father.)
