Changing the Game: Mets Announce Pride Night

Come out and show your pride on August 13!

The New York Mets will be hosting an LGBT Pride Night at Citi Field this summer. The baseball team announced the news Tuesday with enthusiasm as this will be the first time the Mets have hosted an event for their LGBT fans.

Tickets are already on sale for the Saturday, August 13 game against the San Diego Padres, which will be followed by a post-game concert. The tickets start at $35, a special discounted rate. “Help Strikeout Bullying!” cries the Mets official website. A portion of the ticket proceeds will go to LGBT Network and its Safe School Initiative, which works to stop bullying in Queens and Long Island.

At Queens Borough Hall, Mrs. and Mr. Met were seen waving rainbow pride flags to announce the Pride Night and show their support.
