The Very Best of NYC Halloween 2014

Village Halloween Costume Ball, Halloween for Murder, 41st Annual Village Halloween Parade

The annual Village Halloween Costume Ball is a beloved tradition, put on by the Theater for the New City. Enjoy avant-garde theatre, a costume competition, dancing and more, as TNC’s building and the street outside are turned into a magical Halloween wonderland. Catch performances of every stripe! Also, sample the Witches’ Cauldron, a special Halloween café featuring American and international selections.
A murder has been committed, but by whom? The criminal could be anyone, or might even be you in Halloween for Murder!, an interactive mystery dinner performed by the Killing Kompany, a troupe that’s been delighting audiences for decades. Fine food, dancing and a chance to win a prize—who could ask for more on a spooky Halloween night? Get ready for thrills at Dilletos in Westbury.
Of course, the biggest Halloween celebration will be the 41st Annual Village Halloween Parade on 6th Ave. Year after year, parade-marchers outdo themselves with creative, political and humorous costumes. The festivities should be better than ever, following 2013’s triumphant resurrection of the parade, post Superstorm Sandy. Expect the unexpected as the streets turn into the grandest of carnivals. This year’s theme? The Garden of Earthly Delights!
