5 Things To Do In Queer-antine This Weekend

This weekend in queer-antine, go to a full moon party, see Nikki Giovanni live, and more.

Through the COVID-19 pandemic, GO Mag will be gathering the best lesbian and queer virtual events on the weekends in lieu of our regular weekend event round-ups.

Happy Friday, family! Without further ado, here’s what’s going on online in the queer-antine universe this weekend, from parties to panels to yoga.

Stonewall Inn Happy Hour

Come join this iconic historic LGBTQ+ bar for a virtual happy hour this Friday at 6 p.m. EST, with DJ Chauncey D spinning tunes. Email stonewallhappyhour@gmail.com to join in!

Angela Davis & Nikki Giovanni Live

Two legends — queer poet Nikki Giovanni and Black activist Angela Davis — are teaming up for their first-ever joint conversation, all about “survival and self-care for Black women,” this Friday at 7 p.m. EST. This is not to be missed! Tune in live on the GirlTrek Facebook. You can even submit your own question for Giovanni and Davis.

Yaeji @ Club Quarantine

Queer Asian rapper Yaeji is taking over the most popular virtual queer club on the internet, Club Quarantine, on Friday at 9 p.m. EST alongside a bunch of cool supporting acts, including drag queens West Dakota and Dynasty. If you ever had a doubt that Zoom parties could be lit, here’s proof.

Virtual Queer Yoga

Quarantine involves a LOT of sitting down and/or slouching on your bed and couch, so it’s a great idea to move your body whenever you can. Why not do so with other queer folks? This class, hosted by Queer Asterisk in Colorado, is by and for queer and trans folks and takes place on Saturday at 9 a.m. MDT. Suggestion donation is $10.

Scorpio Full Moon Party

New Orleans-based party Ascendance is throwing a party on Saturday at 9 p.m. CST in honor of this week’s full moon in Scorpio — and in honor of your need to listen to great music, get cute, and interact with cute queers. Donations are optional, but all donations go toward Southern Solidarity, a community organization helping unhoused people survive this pandemic.
