5 Lesbian Things To Do In New Orleans This Weekend

Mardi Gras balls, raves, glitter workshop.

Mardi Gras weekend is officially upon us. If you dare to venture out, here’s where the queers will be at this weekend!

Friday

Eco-Friendly Glitter Bar at Glitter Box NO (1109 Royal St. #A) at 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. — Start your Mardi Gras weekend by making a stop at this women-owned shop in the French Quarter for some eco-friendly glitter and face painting. Mix together any colors you like to make your own customized blend — it’s all biodegradable and plant based. Jars are $10.

The Moon Pirate Ball 2: The Other Ball at Frenchmen Hotel (417 Frenchmen St.) at 10:21 p.m. — This mystical Moon Pirate soiree starts promptly at “twenty-one minutes past ten o’clock in the twenty first day of the second month of this year, two thousand and twenty.” Costumed are encouraged, but not required, and there is no cover.

Saturday

FREEDIA GRAS at One Eyed Jacks (615 Toulouse St.) at 10 p.m. — Big Freedia and special guest Hasizzle are bringing down the house at One Eyed Jacks, and if you like to dance, you definitely don’t want to miss this. Tickets are $40.

Sunday

Dad’s Ball: Mask 4 Mask at Cafe Istanbul (2372 St. Claude Ave.) at 9 p.m. — Dad’s Ball is a queer, Victorian fetish-themed masquerade ball from Trax Only and Hit It NOLA. Expect “fierce shows, shenanigans, and all out trouble” from folks like Alli Logout, Bijoux, Fatsy Cline and more. Presale tickets are now $40.
