This week’s roundup of lesbian events in Los Angeles is quite wholesome, from poetry to self-love to meditation.

Friday

The Beauty of the Beast: Queer Poetry Night at Beyond Baroque (681 Venice Blvd.) at 8 p.m. — Influx Collectiv, a monthly queer poetry reading serires, is celebrating Dissonance Press’s first anthology “Under the Belly of the Beast” with this night of readings by queer LA poets, including Ryka Aoki, Cori Bratby-Rudd, Féi Hernandez, Christine Imperial, and Hank Henderson.

Saturday

LGBT+ Suicide Prevention Workshop at Sanctuary LAX Studios (10914 S. La Cienega Blvd.) at 11 a.m. — Learn vital suicide prevention skills specifically for the queer and trans commmunity, including local resources that are available in Southern California and best practices for assisting someone who’s facing a possible suicide.

Self-Love and Stitches at Cuties Coffee (710 N. Heliotrope Dr.) at 12 p.m. — Come to this basic embroidery skills workshop at Cuties, leave with a cool new queer or trans embroidery piece. This class is hosted by two queer QTPOC. The cost is sliding scale $15 to $35.

QTPOC Soundbath and Tea at Cuties Coffee (710 N. Heliotrope Dr.) at 7 p.m. — This monthly soundbath and tea ceremony is a special healing journey for queer and trans people of color. Donation based, and bring a yoga mat if you have one.

Sunday

Mindful Transitions for the Transgender Community at InsightLA (4300 Melrose) at 3:30 p.m. — Every first Sunday of the month, Martin Vitorino, PhD hosts this mindful meditation for trans folks at all stages of transition, as well as genderqueer, gender non-conforming and genderfluid people. No prior meditation experience is necessary. Donation-based.
