The Very Best of NYC Comedy

Jessica Kirson, Kathy Griffin, Kate Clinton, Homo Comicus and much more

Need a serious laugh? Get thee to Nyack! Jessica Kirson is a tremendous talent and a woman we love. (Literally. She was one of GO's "100 Women We Love" a couple of years ago.) You'll giggle your way home from the Nyack Center after seeing her show there on Apr 12. With a variety of characters under her belt, it’s easy to see how Kirson’s performed on some of the biggest stages and best TV shows, including Comedy Central’s South Beach, The Tonight Show, The View, Dr. Oz and many more.

Kathy Griffin takes the stage in Staten Island on Apr 16. Hop on the ferry and walk just two blocks to the St. George Theatre, where you'll delight in Griffin's gut-splitting, gossipy humor. This two-time Emmy winner, author and community favorite is a multi-talented performer with a rapid fire wit. Always riotously entertaining.

Out comedy legend Kate Clinton headlines the always funny Homo Comicus with the “Girls Gone Hilarious” comedy show, set to return to Gotham Comedy Club on May 7. Be sure to get tickets for this uproarious night of laughter, with such stars as Poppy Champlin (who’s appeared on Comedy Central and Showtime), Claudia Cogan (vet of Here TV and NBC’s Last Comic Standing), Scout Durwood (from The Mindy Project and Howard Stern) and NY KAZ (from Women's Week P-Town and the Fresh Fruit Festival)!

If you’re in P-town for Memorial Day, catch Suzanne Westenhoefer there to kick off your holiday weekend with some laughs. But if you’re going to stay right here in NYC, don’t despair. The sidesplitting comic is appearing in a special engagement at Gotham Comedy Club on May 27.

What’s that? You love comedy, burlesque and variety shows? Well, you're in for a bawdy, hilarious treat! In a limited engagement this spring and summer, Stand Up and Take Your Clothes Off! presented by Horse Trade Theater Group, features NYC's funniest female comics and sassiest burlesque acts. Performers such as stand-up comedian Kerryn Feehan and burlesque performer, Kitten Kent, Girl Detective put on a fantastic, memorable show at the Kraine Theater. Past entertainers have been featured in films, appeared on TV, and have performed at venues all over the globe. Be ready for "a fast-paced sexy show, exploding with talent!"
