Michal and Natasha say they remember the details of the night they met a little differently.

“I went to a lesbian dance party and Natasha was the bartender,” Michal said. “But long story short, she gave me her number and that was that.”

The couple, who met in 2014, were married this past September, but Michal said that in the beginning, she struggled to find the trust necessary for a successful relationship as her previous marriage ended after her ex-wife had an affair.

“I had so many triggers and insecurities around committed relationships. Natasha helped me overcome this by being 100% frank and upfront at all times,” Michal said. “It was scary but I’m not one to live a life based on fear, so I decided to just make the plunge and allow myself to abandon my preconceived ideas on what could happen wrong and just let it be.”

The couple now prides themselves on not only appreciating one another, but “vocalizing the appreciation.”

“Women love to be treated well. It’s easy to get used to,” Michal said. “It’s easy to accept that our partner will do the dishes three nights in a row because they know you hate the feeling of wet dishes, but you have to tell them how much you appreciate them and not just assume they know that they make you melt inside. Tell them all the time.”
