At just 23, Stephanie Frosch is the brains behind ElloSteph (youtube.com/user/ElloSteph), a YouTube channel with close to 300,000 subscribers. Frosch uses her channel and platform to educate viewers on LGBTQ issues, safe sex, and body positivity. She’s also taken her show on the road, conducting panels on feminism and LGBTQ issues at Comic Con, Vidcon and Playlist Live; and she’s gone to high schools and universities, presenting workshops on gender and sexuality, body image, bullying and much more. “Honestly, I don’t feel like I ever ‘chose’ to do what I do,” she says. “Just like one doesn’t choose to breathe air or choose to laugh if they find something funny; it was almost a natural reflex for me to do. When I was a teenager, I was the only lesbian I knew, and I felt extremely isolated and depressed because of it. I never want a person to feel like I felt when I was a kid, so I try to be that person I know I needed when I was young. No one should ever feel alone, especially through the process of discovering one’s sexual orientation.
