100 Women We Love: Class of 2009

Once again, we celebrate our favorite out and proud women. As difficult as it is to narrow it down to just 100, this year’s eclectic list includes artists, athletes, club promoters, community organizers, entertainers, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, politicians and plaintiffs, who are making a difference in our world and the world at large.

Clementine Ford

Clementine Ford took our hearts by storm
in 2007, when she began playing Molly Kroll, an uptight and career-minded straight woman who becomes Shane’s love interest on the
L Word. The real-life daughter of Cybill Shepherd, the two also played mother
and daughter on the show. In early 2009,
Ford officially came out as gay to the Advocate, and has since said she is in a
relationship with musician and producer
Linda Perry. “Look, I am gay, and I just wanted there not to be this big emphasis on it,” Ford said. She has recently joined the cast of
the Young and Restless, playing Mackenzie “Mac” Browning. – CM

Remember, these are in no particular order because we love them all!
