100 Women We Love: Class of 2009

Once again, we celebrate our favorite out and proud women. As difficult as it is to narrow it down to just 100, this year’s eclectic list includes artists, athletes, club promoters, community organizers, entertainers, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, politicians and plaintiffs, who are making a difference in our world and the world at large.

Lisa Pittman

DJ Lisa Pittman is the resident DJ for Las Vegas hot spots like Tao, Krave and The Hard Rock Hotel’s “Rehab”. She is well known on the girl party scene, spinning major events like Club Skirts The Dinah in Palm Springs and Miami’s Aqua Girl. She spins at Pride events throughout the country, and at home in Las Vegas, she owns, promotes and DJ’s the weekly women’s event CandyBar. Jackie Warner, Janice Dickinson, Bill Maher and other celebrities have been spotted at her Las Vegas hot spot. “I started in event production at 19, as a volunteer with local Pride events,” Pittman says. “I wished there were higher quality women’s events and I realized that I could create them myself. The Las Vegas market was wide open and the next thing you know, I was throwing events for a living and fusing them with my DJ career. I have been completely dedicated to being ‘The Life of the Party’.” -KW
