100 Women We Love: Class of 2009

Once again, we celebrate our favorite out and proud women. As difficult as it is to narrow it down to just 100, this year’s eclectic list includes artists, athletes, club promoters, community organizers, entertainers, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, politicians and plaintiffs, who are making a difference in our world and the world at large.

Jenny Shimizu

As one of the judges on Bravo’s hit television series, Make Me a Supermodel, actress and model Jenny Shimizu brings with her over fifteen years of experience in the fashion world. She has worked with numerous industry heavies, everyone from Versace to Jean Paul Gaultier, and has also appeared on America’s Next Top Model, E!’s Sexiest Top Models, Dante’s Cove and in a guest role in the famous coming out episode of Ellen. In 2007, Shimizu appeared in the popular lesbian film Itty Bitty Titty Committee. On being a model judge she says, “Working on Bravo’s Make Me a Supermodel has been incredible. To be able to pass on my experience to these kids is really quite rewarding for me. It’s a difficult career and I want them to go in with as much knowledge of the business as they can.” -CM

Remember, these are in no particular order because we love them all!
