100 Women We Love: Class of 2009

Once again, we celebrate our favorite out and proud women. As difficult as it is to narrow it down to just 100, this year’s eclectic list includes artists, athletes, club promoters, community organizers, entertainers, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, politicians and plaintiffs, who are making a difference in our world and the world at large.

Lynette Molnar

A self- identified lesbian evangelist, Lynette Molnar’s portfolio is sprawling. She is an entrepreneur, photographer, activist, event planner, and marketing guru whose motto is “Figure out what’s missing in the world for women, and then create it.” And Molnar has created a lot of what’s been missing for the LGBT community in Provincetown. Her Girl Power Productions company is the inventing force behind P-Town’s Holly Folly, Single Women’s Weekend, Women of Color & Friends Weekend, Girl Splash: The Summer Women’s Party, the new Memorial Day’s Women’s Cruise and hundreds of other events. Molnar has energy, heat, heart and charisma. In addition to making a lot of woman happy at her summer dance parties and annual special events, she has raised money and awareness for Human Rights Campaign, National Center for Lesbian Rights, GLAAD, Fenway Community Health Center and The Gay & Lesbian Task Force. -KD

Remember, these are in no particular order because we love them all!
