100 Women We Love: Class of 2009

Once again, we celebrate our favorite out and proud women. As difficult as it is to narrow it down to just 100, this year’s eclectic list includes artists, athletes, club promoters, community organizers, entertainers, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, politicians and plaintiffs, who are making a difference in our world and the world at large.

Poppi Kramer

Less of Poppi Kramer is a good thing. Say what? The
popular stand-up comic (GO Magazine’s “Favorite Comic” in the 2008 Readers’ Choice Nightlife Awards) was the
at-home winner in NBC’s The Biggest Loser, Season 3. In her words, she is “finally thin enough to play the funny fat friend on TV.” Not surprisingly, with a BFA and MFA in
acting, she bartends (as do all the greats on their way up) at The Duplex and The Stonewall Inn. You may also
recognize her in many voiceovers as well as on VH1. Kramer has appeared in numerous unseen indie films, on never-watched cable shows, and soon to be unheard-of theatre pieces. You can see her at some of New York City’s best comedy clubs, as well as at her own show every Wednesday at The Duplex. When Kramer isn’t getting
paid peanuts to perform, you can find her being carried around NYC on the shoulders of her entourage of hot homosexual men. -KW

Remember, these are in no particular order because we love them all!
