100 Women We Love: Class of 2009

Once again, we celebrate our favorite out and proud women. As difficult as it is to narrow it down to just 100, this year’s eclectic list includes artists, athletes, club promoters, community organizers, entertainers, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, politicians and plaintiffs, who are making a difference in our world and the world at large.

Hilary Rosen

From serving as the head of
the Recording Industry Association of America for 17 years to being a recognized expert on the legislative, political, and media intersections of Washington D.C., Hilary Rosen is one powerful woman. Rosen appears regularly on various influential year-end lists, including Entertainment Weekly’s “Annual Power List of the 101 Most Influential People
In Entertainment”, “The Hollywood Reporter’s Power 50” and, most recently , Pennsylvania Avenue, Profiles in Backroom Power. In 2006, she partnered with the L Word and Showtime Networks to launch OurChart, the social networking website. Rosen is currently an on-air
CNN Political Contributor and Editor-at-Large of HuffingtonPost.com. A long-time Capitol Hill Strategist, she was instrumental in the passage of numerous
public laws and has been advisor to many Democratic candidates for political office. She now runs the DC office
of the Brunswick Group, a global communications firm. -KD
