100 Women We Love 2007

We present to you this year’s selection of 100 out women who have made an impact on the community. Meet the class of 2007.

Kirsten Price
As one of the first artists signed to Music With A Twist—the record label dedicated to identifying and developing LGBT artists—Price is on a major roll. She’s got a debut album in the works, has been featured on The L Word, and is electrifying stages all over the city and beyond. Price was classically trained in opera before hearing Janis Joplin as a teenager and rebelling. The singer-songwriter-producer-multi-instrumentalist grew up in London, and lived in San Francisco for a few years before moving to New York in 2001. Her music covers the spectrum of pop, blues and rock, and she’s got hip-hop orchestras and musicals in the back of her mind. Price is convinced that “anytime you make people think and question themselves, and make them see more about the people around them, it’s a good thing.”– DP
