The Very Best of NYC Halloween

Nightmare Horror Show, Halloween Harvest Festival and the Village Halloween Parade!

Get into the Halloween spirit with the Nightmare Horror Show on the Lower East Side. This year, it’s a scary theater festival—NYC’s first!—instead of a haunted house. Opens early October and runs thru Halloween.

This year’s Halloween Harvest Festival at Socrates Park in Long Island City includes art and costume-making workshops, face painting, food from local restaurants, live music and a dog costume contest—so bring your pooch! It all happens Oct 24.

The main event on Halloween in New York City is none other than the 42nd Annual Village Halloween Parade. Year after year, parade-marchers outdo themselves with creative, political and humorous costumes—and the festivities should be better than ever this time around. Expect more than 50 bands, puppeteers, dancers and other artists as the streets are turned into the grandest of carnivals. The theme of this year’s parade is Shine a Light.

Continue to wow everyone with your stroke-of-genius ensemble on Halloween night at the Theater for the New City’s Village Halloween Costume Ball. Join more than 1,000 revelers as they celebrate Halloween at this annual East Village party. Enjoy an evening of avant-garde theatre, creative cabaret acts, a costume competition, dancing and more. Costumes or formal wear a must!
